There are two elements to the design competition: infrastructure & site design, and vehicle design. These will be evaluated independently, and competitors are free to participate in either or both elements.
As part of the hypothetical Bath PRT network, several sites have been identified as prime locations for ULTra stations. Each of these sites presents unique and different challenges to the designer, and participants may choose to create designs for as many of these sites as they like.
At each site, both the guideway and the stations will need to be designed in accordance with the infrastructure specification. Integration with the surrounding environment will also be an all-important consideration. The designer may make interventions in the surrounding environment — pedestrianising streets or altering the landscaping, for example — but should remain mindful of the fact that all changes to the environment will be subject to public review and feedback.
