A 20-page detailed brochure of the ULTra system containing information on the current infrastructure design (guideway and stations), the vehicles, control and safety systems, and a brief history of ATS Ltd.

Competition Promotional Leaflet

A double-sided promotional leaflet, which folds as shown on the right. It contains a condensed summary of the information available on this website, giving brief introductions to ULTra, Bath, the Renaissance Project and this design competition.

PRT - The Urban Challenge

Adapting the ULTra design to best suit different environments is already a subject of considerable interest. A good starting point is PRT - The Urban Challenge, by Jochen Rabe of Arup (presented by Tony Kerr at the PRT@LHR conference, in April 2009). Arup, which has been involved with the ULTra project since its beginning in 1995, has kindly made the presentation available for this competition.

Modular ULTra Station Design Guide

A guide to the design of the ULTra stations; this document lays out all the requisite elements in a station, with detailed accompanying examples taken from the Heathrow application.

3D Vehicle Design Guide

The above file, in Sketchup 7 format, provides a reference template for designing your own custom ULTra vehicles. The model contains a design similar to the Heathrow production vehicles, as well as bounding boxes demarcating the allowable tolerances of the chassis, exterior shell, and passenger compartment.
