Heathrow Pod Launch Video (2011)
Heathrow Airport has today (16th September 2011) unveiled the Heathrow pod, the airport's most innovative transport system and the first new example of transit technology in 100 years.
164 Vehicle Movements in One Hour (2011)
In January 2011, ULTra PRT undertook a Heathrow PRT system capacity trial. This involved 18 people continuously traveling back and forth, selecting journeys. We exceeded our target -- completing a total of 164 vehicle journeys between the car park stations and Terminal 5 using a fleet of 18 vehicles. This would be the equivalent of moving 656 passengers an hour on the 1.9km journey, assuming occupancy of four people in each vehicle. All systems performed well and no issues were reported.

Heathrow Passenger Trials (2010)
In March of 2010, ULTra PRT demonstrated 48 passengers departing from the four-berth London Heathrow (LHR) Terminal 5 station in 5 minutes, for a world-record hourly PRT outbound station capacity of 576 passengers per hour.* The ULTra system continued to set PRT world records throughout 2010.
With the further enhancements that are being implemented, this 48-passenger station processing time will be reduced to three and a half minutes. Hence the station will be able to serve as many as 800 passengers per hour -- equivalent to a long-haul bus (or coach) arriving every three to four minutes -- far more traffic than is currently anticipated for the Phase I LHR system. This excess capacity allows the station to serve passengers quickly, even when they arrive as part of large groups. This excess capacity also accommodates the future growth of passenger traffic at the airport.
Heathrow Multi-vehicle Testing (2009)
This video shows the ongoing testing of multiple ULTra Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) vehicles in the T5 Business Car Park at London Heathrow Airport. As part of this test, vehicles were required to travel simultaneously between all three stations and eight station berths in the Heathrow network. This and other recent tests have demonstrated full integration between the central control system, the individual vehicles, and station hardware such as the automatic berth doors, the vehicle charge points, and the passenger destination selection kiosks.

ULTra Vehicle Choreography (2009)
The following video was taken at our Cardiff Test Facility in April 2009, and demonstrates the operation of multiple vehicles around the network and at a three-berth station. The "saw-tooth" station design allows for individual vehicle departures, allowing passengers to take their time without holding up other vehicles that are ready to depart in other berths. Note that this video has no audio.
