On March 29th the ATS team successfully demonstrated the operation of the Automatic Vehicle Protection (AVP) system for ULTra at the Cardiff Trials site. The test was done before a large audience including guests from BAA, HM Rail Inspectorate and ATS contractors.

Automatic braking of a following vehicle was demonstrated following an induced failure of the lead vehicle. This marks a key step forward for safe multi vehicle operations.
